Research Questions


1. Why earworm music typically is a pop-music? Are there any classical pieces that can be an earworm? Why or why not?

2. Is a melody more likely to be an earworm if it is:


a.  a simple melody we hear just a few times

b. a more complex melody we hear many times?





Methodology: An



What is the hypothesis you are testing?

· Earworm music is not typically pop music, it can be any kind of music based on an exposure and our own musical experiences.

· Earworm can happen based on the musical features of the melody itself, simple or complex.


My Method Description

For the experiment, I will involve the analysis of questionnaires. I will sent out my questionnaires about Involuntary Musical Imagery to lots of participants and analyze based on their answers to answer my hypothesis.
